Hello All,
As the subject says the Art 4021 and Art 11002 cameras are to be
discontinued. However, fear not, as cameras based on these CCDs will
soon be announced from Atik.
As you will probably know both Atik and Artemis cameras are designed by
Artemis and all use the same Artemis software. The higher volume
cameras tend to be made by Atik while the large format cameras are
branded Artemis. This has always been a bit complicated to explain to
new customers. So from July all Artemis designed cameras sold to
astronomers will be sold through the Atik brand.
We also propose to merge the Atik and ArtemisCCD yahoo groups. The
resulting group for both Artemis and Atik owners will have a much bigger
membership, should be more active, and will encourage the sharing of
images in a way the more technical Artemis group has not really managed.
As Atik is the lager ground this will mean Artemis members
subscribing to the Atik group at
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/atik_instruments/
Just to re-emphasise. These are only changes in organisation. Existing
cameras are still fully supported and the same people are still behind
the cameras. We have some really ambitious plans for the next 12 months
that should benefit both Artemis and Atik owners. This re organisation
is the first step, we will make further announcements as soon as we can.
Finally a huge thanks from me for all your support over the last few years.
best wishes
Steve
